Forest Park is a vibrant, diverse, urban/suburban village of 13,800 residents just west of Chicago. It is connected to downtown by the Blue Line, and is not far from Oak Park Station with access to the Greenline and Metra. Madison Street is where you will find the majority of Forest Park’s shops, restaurants, and festivals. Forest Park was awarded “Best Neighborhood Dining” by the Chicago Tribune.
Downtown Chicago is a 9 mile drive on I-290 (the Eisenhower expressway). Many residents choose to walk to the Forest Park Blue Line station which is part of Chicago’s El network. Midway and O’Hare airports are both equally easy to access from Forest Park.
Every summer there are number of festivals including: Garage Galleries, RibFest, and a Chicago-wide softball tournament. The Memorial Day and St. Patrick’s Day parades draw crowds from surrounding neighborhoods. With easy access via the Metra, Blue Line, and Harlem Green Line, residents of Forest Park are just steps away from accessing any of the cultural and sports events throughout the city of Chicago as well.
